Online Safety

At Severnbanks Primary we are committed to teaching your children about internet safety.

Internet safety is a large part of our computing curriculum.  The digital literacy strand alongside, our computing scheme and our PSHE scheme, covers online safety. The online safety we teach is based on the DfE’s Education for a Connected World framework. This guidance was created to help equip children for life in the digital world, including developing their understanding of appropriate online behaviour, copyright issues, being discerning consumers of online information and healthy use of technology.

Each year children take part in Safer Internet Day. We also work with the local PCSOs and School Beat officers who deliver E-Safety lessons in school as part of a nationwide police initiative.

If you want to learn more about protecting your child whilst they use the internet, then talk to your child's class teacher who will be happy to help and to discuss issues with you.

Please find some links to the left of this text, which will help you find out more about keeping your child safe online.
